- A HUGE thank you to the chaperones from Friday's transportation trip around Uptown. We had a wonderful time exploring the city bus, trolley, lightrail, and visiting the library. We learned about signs, traffic lights, patience and schedule changes, and safety. We have also been comparing and contrasting the various modes of transportation.
- Thanks to everyone who attended Teacher Talk as well.
- We finished our studies and math sorting with the transportation toys. Thanks to everyone who sent them in.
- Another HUGE thank you to everyone who sent in ingredients for our pancakes. We had an awesome time cooking them. I will upload our pancake recipe sometime this week.
We will be moving our focus and studies to apples and fall for the next two weeks.
- Please send in at least one apple with your child BY WEDNESDAY. We will use it for various math and and science concepts throughout the week. It can be any size, type, color, etc. Once we are done using the apples for math and science skills we will use them to make apple sauce and apple pies. YUM! If you are able to send in more than one apple, your generosity is greatly appreciated.
- Friday we are having an Apple Fun Day during our half day of school. This is a day where the students will rotate through various learning stations and create art, listen to literature, taste and graph apples, and many other things. If you are able to come in and assist with Apple Fun Day, please e-mail me and let me know. It would be from 9:30-11:20. If we have more than enough parents volunteer we will pull names and I will let everyone know who was chosen.
- This Friday is a half day. Normal dismissal in the gym and carline will take place beginning at 11:25am.
- Theme bags will go home today. We got too busy last Friday after the field trip. Please let me know if you don't want your child to have a theme bag.
- In the mornings, please try to get your child to school on time. We understand that there is unforeseen traffic and weather conditions at times, but when students walk in with only a few seconds before 8:15 or a few minutes late they start off their morning in a rush.
- Please be aware of the school's visitor policy and make sure you are ALWAYS signing in and getting a visitor's badge at the front desk.
- The temperature in our classroom varies greatly throughout the day. Please send in a coat, jacket, or sweater that your child can leave in his/her cubby if you have an extra at home. This will reduce the urge for students to stretch out their clothing trying to cover up and stay warm.
- Parent teacher conferences are coming up next month and I know many people need advanced notice for their schedules. Please signup following this link.
- Below are a few reminders about homework.
