Our class will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on Friday,
February 14th (and what a busy day that will be). Please read
the following information about our class’ activities. Please see below for information regarding our celebration and your child's valentine cards/gifts.
*Your child will need a plain shoe box to decorate by
Monday, February 10th. You
are able to send in the shoe box at any time.
*We have 18 students in our class. If you child wants to pass our treat bags,
candy, valentines, etc. please make
sure everyone is included. A
class roster is included below and is also permanently on the webpage and blog
tabs. Your child should personally address his/her valentines to their classmates. It is good practice for learning the spelling of classmates' names, practice good penmanship, and taking ownership when giving and receiving gifts.
*We will be visiting the retirement home to sing songs, deliver Valentines, and brighten the day of the residents earlier in the day on Valentine's Day as well.
*Our Valentine’s Day party is a “Hearty Party” and we will
be learning about food and nutrition throughout the month of February. Therefore, I will be asking for heart healthy treats rather than
sweets, candy, cupcakes, and other “traditional” party foods.
**Our Valentine’s Day party is usually a low-key classroom party where
the students exchange Valentines, sing songs, eat healthy snacks, play
a BINGO game, and bond as a class.
**This is the only classroom event/party where I ask that no parents or
family members attend so we are able to celebrate with one another in
a fun, casual way.
**If you signed up to send in food/drinks for the party, you can send it
in a few days before Valentine’s day or the morning of the party. To
sign-up to send items in, click here.
Thanks so much for your understanding. Let me know if you have any questions.
