Welcome Back Weekly News

Welcome back!  I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Winter Break and enjoyed meaningful time with family and friends.  Due to the short week, there will be no sight word test, spelling test, or student of the week.  Also, a few things:

• Jackets:  With the increasingly cold weather, please make sure your child has a jacket each day.  if you have an extra, it's a great idea to have your child leave one in his/her cubby.  If it is less than 40 degrees and your child does not have a jacket/hoodie, he or she will stay inside and read a book in a different classroom if they are unable to borrow an extra from someone. 
• MRSA Library: We did not attend the school library today, as I received an email yesterday requesting that library hours resume next week.
• Mint Museum Field Trip: Permission slips went home today for an art trip to the Mint Museum in uptown.  Please return the slip and $1.00 cash ASAP.  If you paid in a lump sum, this trip was not included in that cost.
• Discovery Place Kids Field Trip- Money for the Discovery Place Kids trip is due by next Wednesday, January 9th for both students and chaperones. 
• Reading Folder Books: With the hustle and bustle of finishing things before break (and our awesome PJ Dance party) I did not have a chance to switch reading folder books before break.  I am reassigning reading groups and books and everyone will receive new books on Monday, when we resume our routine.

• Imaginon- Jan. 15
• NO SCHOOL for students- Jan. 18
• NO SCHOOL- Jan. 21
• Mint Museum Trip- Jan. 22
• Discovery Place Kids Trip- Jan. 24
