I hope everyone had a great weekend!!! A few things about your child's folder and homework today.
- There are 4 optional math sheets about counting money (pennies and nickels). We've gone over this several times in class and focused on it last week. If you child struggles with this work, please assist them, as it is review work.
- There are some extra and also optional sheets in their folder as well...
- The number cards can be cut apart and used to play Math War. A deck of cards is also commonly used for this game. It's a great game for math skills to play at home.
- There are money sheets. These can be cut apart and used as manipulatives on this week's optional homework, future practice, etc. These are to stay at home for your use and do not need to be sent to school.
- Everyone has homework tonight in their Reading Folder. Please sit down with your child and read/discuss the questions or assignments on the sticky note attached to their reading group book.
- PLEASE make sure your child is reading nightly for 15 minutes (AT LEAST!) It is vital to learning and progressing. When your child has completed the books in his/her reading folder, they are able to get more by moving their magnet. Encourage them to change their books often for as much practice as possible.
- Reading homework is going to be more frequent now and I will not always put a reminder on the blog or in your child's folder. Please make sure you are checking your child's reading folder nightly for additional reading homework/practice via books, flashcards, etc.
- We need the solid Crisco for a science experiment next week.... 2 big containers or several small containers. Please let me know if you are able to send some in. I have the remaining items we need.
