Weekly News Part 1

Hello!  So... Some news coming up.

First and foremost I enjoyed meeting with everyone the past few weeks for conferences.  I have a few conference forms that I still need to send home (I have not forgotten) and will get those home this week.  Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions for me.

From conferences several things came up regarding reading folders.  Mrs. Kang has been in charge of reading folders this year.  However, after all of the feedback from conferences I have collected all of the reading folders and will be revamping them this week.  The biggest problem with the books not being switched or moved is because your child is not turning the folder in to receive new books.  As with everything we do, if it isn't working we will try something new.  More information about them to come later this week when we have finished redoing them.

Tomorrow we will be going on a field trip to Discovery Place Kids.  Please pack your child's lunch in the blue-lid container that is going home today.  Our school dishwasher is not the best, so you may need to re-clean it.  =)  Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes tomorrow on the trip.  They will be having a lot of fun crawling, playing, and learning at the museum.  We will be leaving school no later than 8:45.  Nandita and Makila will be the 2 chaperones on the bus.  Deepa, DeeDee, Ranjani, and Smita will need to drive separately and meet us at the museum or follow the bus from school.

I have been a little behind responding to emails the past few weeks because all of my planning times have been spent in conferences.  Thank you for your patience.  I am also in the process of creating the school's yearbook during planning times (due April 1st to the company) and balancing my personal life on a whole new level, so please bear with me during this busy time.  If I overlook something please remind me!  =)

There will be another blog post this week regarding reading folders, Junior Great Books, skills covered last week, and any additional news.  Have a great week!
