Tomorrow we are attending the Riverbanks Zoo field trip. Below is the information I posted last week.
- We will be leaving promptly at 7:25. Students may arrive beginning at 7:15. Please drop your child off at the back entrance of the school where normal drop-off occurs. We will have one of the assistants at the door.
- We will be returning between 4:00-4:15 depending on traffic (definitely aiming for 4:00). We will release students from the back door as well.
- The early arrival and late dismissal mean that your child cannot ride the Eagle Bus at all. Please make other arrangements.
- Please make sure your child is wearing tennis shoes (sneakers). They may also bring a hat. Please do not send anything else with your child to wear (jackets, sunglasses, sun shades, etc.) as they are easily lost.
- If you would like your child to wear sunscreen you must put it on your child at home. Mrs. Kang and I are not allowed to apply sunscreen to your children.
- LUNCHES: Please make sure you pack your child's lunch in the blue container that goes home on Tuesday. Please also pack 2 labeled snacks separately from lunch. Morning snacks, afternoon snacks, and lunches will all be stored in different locations so they all need to be separate from one another.
- Please DO NOT pack your child a water bottle. I will provide one for your child on that day (along with a strap to carry is around their shoulder easily so it accessible throughout the day).
- You do not need to send backpacks, folders, etc. with your child on this day.
- If your child is late to school and we have already left for the field trip they will attend school in another classroom and complete work with that class.
Additional information regarding this week....
- Friday is a half day of school. Dismissal is 11:25-11:45.
- Saturday is a half day of school as well. If your child is not attending, that is OK. I understand that it is Mother's Day weekend. Just let me know if your child will or will not be attending.
- No spelling words this week. Instead, I would like you to focus on studying math facts for 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4. Last week there was large improvements on the 0 and 1 facts. I'd like to see the same improvement again this week as the students begin memorizing and learning these facts. =)
- Below is a note from Mrs. Love regarding Night of the Arts.
- Please make sure your child is wearing "their Sunday best attire." In other words, please make sure your child is groomed nicely and wearing attire that is slightly more formal than what is worn to school daily. Please also email Mrs. Dey and let her know if your child is not attending the event.
- Below is also a note from Mrs. Tans. A pre-order form went home in your child's folder today.
- Dear Kindergarten Families,Mrs. TansIt is a privilege and a pleasure to work with your students in art class. The Scholars Academy Community celebrates our student artists and musicians at Nighst of the Arts next week, 5/15 and 5/16.The Scholars Academy Art Gallery is an exhibition and sale of student artwork. Each student has one piece of art displayed in the exhibition. Each student's art is for sale for $5.00. Proceeds from art sales go to our PTO. PTO donates the proceeds to help fund the ceramic art program. We offer a pre-sale opportunity for families to purchase their students artwork prior to the exhibition. Students will bring a pre-sale form home with them on 5/6. Please send in cash with the completed form to school with your student by 5/12/14 if you wish to purchase the art using the pre-sale option. Pre-sale art will be marked SOLD noting the name of the buyer on the sold label. Artwork will also be for sale during the art exhibitions at Nights of the Art. All purchased art can be picked up starting at 4:30pm on 5/16 or in your student's art class on 5/20. I look forward to seeing you at Night of the Arts.Best regards,
