100th Day of School Project

100th Day of School Project
PLEASE DO NOT START UNTIL AFTER THE 100th DAY!!!  I WILL EXPLAIN THE PROJECT TO THE STUDENTS THIS FRIDAY.  I JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU A "HEADS UP."
The 100th day of school is a fun day full of math and literacy activities related to the number 100.  The students will also learn how to count to 100 in various ways.  After the 100th day, I am going to assign a project related to the 100th day of school.  Details of the project are below.
100th Day of School Project:
Students need to make something (anything) to depict the number 100.  This can be as simple or complex as you want and as creative and open-ended as you wish.  Here are some ideas based on what students have done in years past:
·         Collect 100 of the same item and glue them to a poster board
·         Collect 100 different items and glue them to a poster board
·         Make a book with 100 drawings or glued items
·         Make a t-shirt with 100 buttons, bows, ribbons, etc.
·         Cut out your handprint 100 times and create a picture, mural, etc.
·         String 100 noodles, beans, beads, etc. onto a necklace
·         Make a video of 100 consecutive movements (jumping rope, using a pogo stick, doing jumping jacks, etc.)

Feel free to use one of the ideas above or come up with a new way of portraying the number 100 with your child.  MOST IMPORTANTLY, THIS IS A PROJECT THAT YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO CREATE and their grade is based on working independently!!!
BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN!!! J

PROJECTS ARE DUE TO SCHOOL BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14TH!
**If your child finishes sooner, please feel free to send it in early.**
**Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have!**
