Dr. Seuss and Animal Project News

It's been a GREAT beginning of the week with Dr. Seuss fun!!! I LOVE seeing all of the creative outfits and excitement as we read the books and do various Dr. Seuss inspired activities. 

A few things... 

• We need a dad to be the Cat in the Hat on Friday to read a story to the kids.  We already have the costume... we just need a dad!  If you can do it, please let me know ASAP. 
• We need scrambled eggs for adults, napkins, cups, additional juice, etc. for the brunch.  Please sign-up at http://www.mrsaevents.com/cady/node/277.
• We have an open ticket to Seussical for an adult.  If you'd like to go, please email me and let me know. It's already been paid for and is non-refundable. 
• Friday is book character day.  I've told the kids that they can be any character from any book.  We've read books with animals, careers, as well as the traditional Dr. Seuss books.  Please continue to encourage your child to make his/her own costume! 

Animal Projects...

• We are beginning animal projects in science.  The entire project will be done at school with research in books and on the internet/computer.  Please do not help your child with their research or project at home.  It will not help them learn the skills we are teaching at school regarding research and the step-by-step process we are going through.  
• If your child checked out books at Imaginon yesterday, I helped him/her pick out a non-fiction animal book for their project.  This book will be kept in their desk at school but I will make sure it is returned or renewed at our next trip in two weeks.
