Cooking with Our Buddies!
Today we cooked mug cakes (or "cup" cakes as one student stated) with our 3rd grade buddies. The recipe is really easy and the ingredients keep well for future uses. All you need are a few ingredients, a mug, a microwave, and a Tablespoon.
Ingredients:
- 1 box Angel food cake mix*
- 1 box any flavor cake mix
- water
- frosting (optional)
*one box must be Angel food cake mix in order for the recipe to work due to the egg whites found in Angel food cake
Directions:
**THIS IS SOMETIMES KNOWN AS A 3-2-1 CAKE... BELOW YOU WILL SEE WHY!**
- Dump both cake mixes into a Gallon bag. Seal the bag and shake to mix them together.
- Get a mug.
- Measure 3 TBSP of cake mix in the mug.
- Add 2 TBSP of water to the mug.
- Mix well.
- Microwave for 1 minute.
- Top with frosting or syrup if desired.
- ENJOY!!!
The cake mix in the gallon bag will stay good for months if sealed, so this makes a fast and easy after dinner treat!
