India

I have been hearing about a buzz around the school that parents in our class are concerned about my trip to India coming up next week.  I wanted to take this time to clarify some things and let you know that I am open to any questions or concerns you may have, so please contact me with them. 

• I will be gone to India October 17-28.  This means that I will miss 7 school days total for the trip.  Two of the school days that will be missed (October 18th and 19th) are parent-teacher conference days, so there is only 1/2 a day of school.   There is no school on October 26th.  

• Ms. Crowther will be my substitute teacher while I am gone.  She is a certified teacher with a teaching degree and a teaching license.  In fact, she graduated from the same teaching school I did, only a few years later.  Because Ms. Crowther is my fill-in, there will be a substitute teacher in the room as our classroom assistant.  Her name is Ms. Usha and she is very familiar with our school as well as my classroom.    

• If you need to contact Ms. Crowther/Ms. Usha during the time that I am gone, please try to send a note in your child's folder.  It is easier for both of them to access and respond to. Ms. Crowther will have access to my email account, so in last-minute situations you can send an email as well.  

I am looking forward to a great trip experiencing different cultures and lifestyles as well as meeting my in-laws for the first time!  I can't wait to share my experience with your child upon my return!
