Book Orders, Book Fairs, Fall Festival, OH MY!

This week is full of fun and events and I wanted to post a little update about things. 

Fall Festival
The fall festival is a PTO/8th grade Fundraising event for their annual Washington D.C. trip.  The festival is held at the school in the front playground/parking lot area.  There is always a lot of food and fun and it is a great time to mingle with other parents from the school.  One of the most exciting things about the festival each year is the infamous dunk tank.  Yes, I will be in the dunk tank sometime between 4:00-5:00.  Come check it out! 

Book Fair
The book fair is now in full swing at school!  Yesterday the students each made wish lists of books they thought looked interesting.  If you would like to purchase books for your child, you can:

• Send money in their folder and we will take them to the book fair (please label)
• Purchase books before, after, or during school 
• Purchase books during the fall festival this Friday

Scholastic Book Orders
Scholastic is offering a GREAT promotion right now with their book orders.  You get a free $5 book/credit towards any book of your choice when you order anything online.  This includes $1.00 books!!!  Please let me know if you have trouble ordering and I will assist you.  We are very close to reaching enough book orders to get 20 free books for our class, so please consider ordering if you are interested. 

Scholars Library
This week there will be no Scholars Library trip due to the Book Fair.  Thanks for your understanding! 

Literacy Bags
Please feel free to return your child's literacy bag when you are finished with it, but keep it as long as you need!  Students will get a new bag with the previous bag has been returned and has all of the contents inside.  Thanks!
